Restore provides creative, safe, and appropriate opportunities for the harmed and harm-doer to directly discuss the human consequences of what has occurred, address issues of safety and accountability, and help parties begin the process of moving forward.

RESTORE is a private non-profit organization based in Sioux Falls. Our mission is to assist our community in developing constructive responses to crime, conflict and wrongdoing; responses that foster support and healing for victims; accountability rehabilitation and reintegration for offenders; renewal, partnership, and safety for the community.

We accomplish this by making available to the community programs, services, training and outreach grounded in the principles of restorative justice.

Rooted in practices long used by indigenous cultures to acknowledge, heal and repair destructive conflict, restorative justice emphasizes repairing the harm caused by criminal behavior and conflicts.

It operates on the premise that conflict, even criminal conflict, inflicts harm, and therefore individuals must accept responsibility for repairing that harm.

"Restorative Justice brings together those who have a stake in a specific offense to collectively address harms and obligations in order to put things as right as possible."

The goal of RESTORE is to bring peaceful solutions to those in conflict, and to educate and make our community a safer and healthier place to live.
